(Fort Worth, TX, USA) DFB Pharmaceuticals affiliate Healthpoint, Ltd., a Texas-based market leader in tissue management, dermatology, and surgical products, has signed an agreement with Australia-based Dermal Technologies Pty. Ltd. to distribute OASIS® Wound Matrix in Australia, New Zealand, and a select group of the Pacific islands.
OASIS is a natural, extracellular matrixa biomaterial used to manage a variety of wounds by providing an environment that allows a patient’s body to rebuild and repair damaged tissue. OASIS can be used in the management of partial and full-thickness wounds, such as pressure, venous, and chronic vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical and trauma wounds, seconddegree burns, abrasions, and autograft donor sites.
The agreement grants Dermal Technologies distribution rights for OASIS products in Australia, New Zealand, and a select group of Pacific islands. Dermal Technologies provides research, innovation and product acquisition for parent company Aaxis Pacific Pty Ltd. Terms of the agreement also provide for marketing of other Healthpoint products.
“The end goal for Healthpoint’s International Division is to bring our products to every corner of the world,” said Jay Nisbet, Senior Director of Healthpoint International, “and distribution and sales to Australia, New Zealand and the select Pacific Islands form part of our strategic plan. When looking into this geographic area, we were able to identify and appoint a well-suited distributor, Dermal Technologies.”
“Dermal Technologies and Healthpoint are very similar companies with complementary goals,” continued Mr. Nisbet. “We anticipate that this alignment will fulfill our respective strategies.”
“Currently, OASIS is unparalled in our wound care product market,” said Phil Elmes, Managing Director of Dermal Technologies, “and it is important to us to increase the health care options for our patients and health care providers. We can achieve this goal of improving wound care, and thereby quality of life, in Australasia through our agreement with Healthpoint.”
