Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Paul Dorman is chairman and CEO of DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In September 1990, Mr. Dorman purchased a majority ownership position in DFB Holding, Inc. (now DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc.). As chairman of the board and CEO, he grew the business from approximately $18 million in sales with 150 employees to more than $400 million in sales with a workforce of 1,800 people by year-end 2005.
Mr. Dorman has nearly three decades of executive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He was the past owner of three industrial distribution companies that he acquired and turned around to profitability from Chapter 11 status at acquisition. All three companies were sold to a large, public corporation. Prior to entering private business ownership, he was with Johnson & Johnson for 12 years, where he was a vice president and served as a member of the boards of directors for two J&J companies. Before J&J, he was with Baxter, engaged in the manufacturing of life-critical pharmaceutical products.
Mr. Dorman holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University and a juris doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law.
President and Chief Operating Officer
John Feik is President and Chief Operating Officer of DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to DFB, he was with various Alcon Laboratories corporations and divisions.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Feik was elected to the DFB board of directors in 1990 with the acquisition of DPT.
DFB Board of Directors
John W. Mason was elected to the DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc., board of directors in 1992. In addition to his position on the board of directors, Mr. Mason is a member of the company’s executive committee with DFB’s H. Paul Dorman, chairman and CEO, and John W. Feik, president and COO. Mr. Mason, a geologist, is an oil and gas industry veteran, and led two companies—Amarex Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Burnett Oil Co., Inc., in Fort Worth, Texas—as president.
A graduate of the University of Washington at Seattle, Mr. Mason holds a bachelor of science degree in geology.
HEALTHPOINT Senior Leadership
President and Chief Operating Officer
A distinguished HEALTHPOINT executive since 2008 and a member of the DFB Pharmaceuticals board of directors since 2004, Mr. Baugh brings nearly three decades of public and private company leadership experience to HEALTHPOINT.
Most recently, Mr. Baugh was president and chief executive officer of LifeCap Resources, LLC, a consulting firm for venture capital groups and early-stage science companies. Prior to founding LifeCap in 2007, Mr. Baugh was CEO of MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc., a medical device manufacturing company that developed the DeBakey VAD®, a miniaturized ventricular assist device, in collaboration with NASA and Dr. Michael DeBakey’s team at the Baylor College of Medicine. In the company’s early stages, Mr. Baugh raised venture capital and bank financing and led the process of becoming a public company. In the early 1990s, Mr. Baugh served as both the senior vice president of finance and operations and the chief financial officer for Grasso Corporation, a publicly traded oil service company.
Mr. Baugh serves on the Foundation Board of the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the board of Tech Fort Worth, a nonprofit business incubator helping empower the local community and improve healthcare. He holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant, currently licensed in New York and Texas.
Vice President, Sales
Rob BancroftExecutive Vice President, Strategic and Commercial Development
Prior to his role as executive vice president, strategic and commercial development, Mr. Bancroft served as senior vice president, sales and marketing. Mr. Bancroft first joined HEALTHPOINT in 2004 as vice president of marketing. Before joining HEALTHPOINT, he was senior marketing director, global, for Botox® Therapeutic at Allergan. While at Allergan, Mr. Bancroft contributed to the significant success of the Botox® Therapeutic business by overhauling the business plan, defining the global competitive strategy, and leading a cross-functional team in developing the life-cycle management roadmap for the franchise. Mr. Bancroft began his career in sales of topical ophthalmics for Allergan’s U.S. eye care business in 1988.
Mr. Bancroft holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington and a master’s degree in business administration in marketing and finance from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Christensen joined DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in June 2007; he directs the human resources function for all of DFB’s affiliate companies. A multilingual, global HR executive, Mr. Christensen was most recently director of human resources for Celanese Corporation, a chemical products company headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Christensen has more than 25 years of human resources experience and has held positions as director of human resources for Merck in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland; director of human resources for Merck Canada; head of human resources strategy and planning for Merck Corporation; and international human resources consultant for WFD Consulting.
Mr. Christensen is the co-author of several books and articles concerning the balance between work, life, and family; his work has been reviewed on Good Morning America, Fox News, and CNN. Mr. Christensen holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology and a master’s degree in organizational behavior from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance
Bobbi Drais has more than 15 years of regulatory experience. Since joining HEALTHPOINT in 2003 and establishing the company’s regulatory department, Ms. Drais has achieved landmark regulatory success. She has been instrumental in securing new drug approval and marketing authorization approval for ATRALIN™ (tretinoin) Gel in the United States and Europe, respectively, and gaining regulatory approval of Collagenase SANTYL® Ointment in Canada. Prior to joining the DFB family of companies, Ms. Drais was regulatory affairs manager for Galderma Laboratories, LP; Carrington Laboratories, Inc.; and Smith & Nephew, Inc.
Ms. Drais earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Messiah College and a master of science degree in microbiology from the University of South Florida. Ms. Drais maintains memberships in the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society and the Drug Information Association, and she holds a Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC).
Division General Counsel
Mr. Keith joined HEALTHPOINT in 2000. He has over 35 years experience in handling complex business transactions. While in private practice he represented diverse business entities such as national banks, private companies and public companies. Since joining Healthpoint, he has been involved in mergers and acquistions, licensing of technologies and commercial and financial transactions. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University and the Texas Tech University School of Law.
Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Finance
Mr. Lea has been with DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc., since August 2002. He is responsible for DFB’s financing strategies, capital allocation decisions, and strategic planning, and leads HEALTHPOINT’s business development activities. Prior to joining DFB, Mr. Lea was an investment banker with Bank of America Securities. He was a member of an investment banking team that was responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of capital raising, merger and acquisition, and general corporate finance advisory engagements with middle market companies in a variety of industries.
Mr. Lea holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a master of business administration degree from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he graduated as a Fuqua Scholar.
Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, Finance & Business Development
Mr. Patterson has served as the chief financial officer of DFB Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the parent company of HEALTHPOINT, since 1996. He is a Texas-licensed CPA with experience in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Having held financial and information technology positions with the Burnett Companies of Fort Worth, Texas, one of the founding entities of DFB Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Patterson participated in the acquisition of DPT Laboratories in 1990. He joined DPT Laboratories in 1991, heading up sales and marketing operations.
Mr. Patterson holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Vice President, Healthcare Systems
Since joining the company in 1993, Mr. Santoro has been a key architect in the success of HEALTHPOINT. He was one of the first divisional sales managers hired to build the company’s original acute care field sales organization and was named Divisional Sales Manager of the Year two of his first four years. In 1998, Mr. Santoro was recruited to design and lead HEALTHPOINT’s Extended Care Division. Under his stewardship, this division became the company’s fastest-growing business in only two years. Additionally, Mr. Santoro played a significant role in the acquisition and development of two products that made HEALTHPOINT the leading provider of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of chronic wounds: PANAFIL® Ointment and XENADERM® Ointment.
Mr. Santoro began his career in wound care in 1989 and has since held various sales, training, and marketing positions. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Indiana University.
Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President
Dr. Slade is a board-certified sub-specialist in clinical immunology with more than 15 years of industry-based experience in clinical research. After holding academic appointments at the University of Michigan and Cornell University Medical Center, he left academia to join the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Slade worked with Jonas Salk, MD, on an HIV therapeutic vaccine project at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer and, in 1994, left his position as director of AIDS and immunology to join 3M Pharmaceuticals as director, worldwide medical and scientific affairs. Dr. Slade joined HEALTHPOINT in 2006.
Dr. Slade earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, followed by his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He stayed at SUNY Upstate Medical Center to begin his residency in pediatrics, which he completed at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His residency was followed by a fellowship in clinical immunology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Cell Sciences Senior Leadership
Vice President, Cell Sciences Research & Development
Dr Rolland has been with Healthpoint since January 2005. He is the General Manager of the Swiss R&D branch of Healthpoint/DFB Pharmaceuticals and VP of Research & Development for the Cell Sciences activity.
He has 25 years experience in Pharma & Biotech industries including 15 years in the cell sciences field. He began his professional carrier with Rhône-Mérieux (France) where he was a key contributor to development and consequent commercialization of several vaccines. Prior to joining DFB, Dr. Rolland held the position of Vice President of Research & Development of IsoTis (Switzerland, The Netherlands), a biotech company developing cell therapy products for treatment of metabolic disorders and wound healing.
Dr. Rolland graduated from Claude Bernard’s University (University of Lyon, France) in 1994 with a PhD in biochemistry.
